About Us
Welcome to Honeycomb Glow Candles.
Hi, I'm Jasmine. I'm the face behind Honeycomb Glow Candles.
Honeycomb Glow Candles all began in a farm house, in Goomboorian, where my husband, our first son and I lived for a few months. On this beautiful property, amongst cows, fruit trees and bees.
My husband, James, works for a commercial bee keeper, and a close friend, Mitch, out at Goomboorian.
I have always loved candles. It wasn't until I became a mother and further grew my understanding of a holistic lifestyle, and the all too common toxins in just about everything, that I ditched the fragrance and the soy (which is often marketed as "non toxic" and "eco" but definitely isn't).
Being married to a beekeeper, I sought an interest in beeswax and the way in which it is created from bees. I marveled in God's creation, of this beautiful little creature, and all its wonder.
First, a few years ago, I tried pouring beeswax into glass jars with essential oils and realised it wasn't the right way either.
Then, about a year ago, I made my first beeswax candles from foundation sheets Mitch had gifted me. That was it - I had found the candle that worked for me, that represented the beautiful work of bees, in it's honeycomb look.
From there, the sizes and different rolled candles were made and now, I have a full range of 11 different rolled candles.
Then, I decided I wanted to try pouring again, this time keeping the beeswax pure, as it already smelt so beautifully of honey.
Now, my beautiful beeswax business is full of different candles, different offerings.
I never knew just how far this business would grow. Between the two ranges - rolled and poured, I now have over 50 different candles available.
I am blessed by the Lord and thankful every day. Never did I ever imagine, when I rolled my first candles in that farmhouse, that I would be here today.
Thanks for being here.
I Wanted Cleaner Candles - So I made my Own
Since becoming a mother, the nontoxic lifestyle has become even more important to me. I sought to remove the everyday normalised toxins from our life - including the all too common 'Fragrance' found it just about everything.
Where we source our wax
We have two rolled ranges - Rolled and Poured
We source our wax sheets from Bee Positive, on the sunshine coast. A family owned and operated business, they buy in local beekeepers beeswax, and turn it all into foundation sheets. Commonly used in bee boxes, for bees to build out from.
With one rectangle piece of wax, we create our full range of rolled candles - varying from the little tealight, to the giant pillar.
For our poured range we buy wax blocks in bulk from a family friend, and local apiarist. While calling Goomboorian home, Mitch's bees travel Australia, as far as South Australia for pollination and all over Queensland and New South Wales.
Birthworkers
Homebirth has a special place in my heart.
Both our sons were born at home. As this business grows I see more women reaching out for candles for their birth space and cord burning ceremonies post birth. Not only does this warm my heart but it is so beautiful to think of the little ones being born by candle light, surronded by love and family.
I offer all birth workers a discount for purchasing candles. Please contact directly to organise prior to checking out.
